‘Ah ha’ moment that led to launching the business: : I attended a Scentsy party, came home, threw away all my candles and said, “I’ve got to share this with others.”

Ideal customer/target market: People who love scents but don’t want the pollution in their home or the fire danger.

Biggest Struggle: Asking people to host a party – still working on the right words to say without sounding pushy.

Surprise!: How my passion just comes out and people get as excited as I do when they see my products.

Promoting Sales: Network, network, network, demonstrate and educate – always.

What you wish you would have known: Don’t buy so much inventory. Keep a variety of scents on hand that are best sellers.

What keeps you up at night (business wise!)?: Who will be my next hostess and how will I approach them?

Ever tempted to throw in the towel and just get a job?: Never.

Biggest Goal: Recruit a team of consultants – using social media to attract them.

A few tips: Make your display visually inviting. Have small samples for people to smell, and put your name on everything contact information. Smile and look approachable – not pushy.

The absolute best part of owning my business is: the freedom to work when I want.

If I had to start over again, I would: have started two years ago.

I never imagined: getting hostesses would be so difficult.

If standing on a rooftop facing crowds of aspiring or struggling small business owners, I would shout: “Just do it and don’t question yourself and surround yourself with positive people.”
