Walethia Aquil, Grace and Charm

Walethia Aquil

Grace and Charm in Flushing. Mich., provides entrepreneurs and executives with training in proper business decorum and protocol’s using the principles of the Grace and Charm Success System.

‘Ah ha’ moment that led to launching the business: When I realized the power of having enhanced social skills and a polished image and the impact those qualities have had on my life.

Ideal customer: Entrepreneurs who have reached a certain level of success who struggle with their image and or social skills.

Measuring success: When people see and know me as Ms. Grace and Charm, they know what I stand for.

Biggest struggle: It was really a challenge for me to label myself as an expert. My perspective on what qualified a person as an expert used to be their degree or someone else giving them the statues as an expert. A coach helped me to see the value I bring to the world.

Surprise!: The number of people who want success instantly.

Promoting Business: I’ve built strategic relationships and I market where my clients are.

What you wish you would have known: How am I going to come up with the money for projects.

Ever tempted to throw in the towel and just get a job?: Yes, so many times. I try to remember why I do what I do. 1) To make a difference in the world. 2) To leave a legacy to my children and grandchildren. 3) To live the lifestyle I deserve.

Biggest goal: To market my business and invest in more coaching. I’ve already joined a master mind group. I plan to invest in a speaking coach. Also, I’m seeking more speaking opportunities to get my name out. I also have a project called My Dreams do Come True. I give away free formal grown to any girl who wants one. And the reason I do this is because I did not want any girl not to be able to attend her prom.

Pricing: Determine your target market and ideal client and know the value you provide. Don’t be afraid to ask for the money.

A few good tips: Your brand must be consistent on all of your marketing collateral. Personal development is a process not a project. Change how you feel about yourself and you will have a warm inner glow of self-appreciation that draws people to you.”

The absolute best part of owning my own business is: having a positive impact on society.

If I had to start all over again, I would have: invested more into marketing my business.

I never imagined: marketing would be so difficult.

If standing on a rooftop facing crowds of aspiring or struggling small business owners, I would shout: “Market your business and build relationships, and invest in coaching.”
